\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tThis week more than 25 organizations signed a letter to Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and Minority Leader Chuck Schumer urging them to place legislation addressing energy and climate technology and innovation on the Senate\u2019s fall legislative calendar. \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tS. 383, the Utilizing Significant Emissions with Innovative Technologies (<\/strong>USE IT<\/span><\/strong><\/a>) Act<\/strong>, which would advance CO2 utilization and direct air capture research, permitting and development.

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tS. 903, the Nuclear Energy Leadership Act (<\/strong>NELA<\/span><\/strong><\/a>), which would bolster America\u2019s leadership in nuclear energy by facilitating the development of next generation nuclear energy resources.
\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tS. 1201, the Enhancing Fossil Fuel Energy Carbon Technology (<\/strong>EFFECT<\/span><\/strong><\/a>) Act of 2019<\/strong>, which would authorize DOE to support the development of technologies that improve the efficiency, effectiveness, costs, and environmental performance of coal and natural gas use.

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tS. 1602, the Better Energy Storage Technology (<\/strong>BEST<\/span><\/strong><\/a>) Act<\/strong>, which would increase R&D in battery storage technologies to strengthen the electric grid amid the integration of renewables.

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tS. 1685, the Launching Energy Advancement and Development through Innovations for Natural Gas (<\/strong>LEADING<\/span><\/strong><\/a>) Act of 2019<\/strong>, which would accelerate DOE\u2019s research and development of commercially-viable carbon capture technologies for natural gas-fired electric generation facilities.

This is nothing new, but encouraging that in his proclamation he paid significant attention to clean energy innovation. Below is an excerpt. \n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tThe Nuclear Innovation Alliance (NIA) has released a couple of reports that will help bring the regulatory approach to advance nuclear energy into the modern era. Existing process was set more than 50 years ago, well before the advanced reactor technology of today. ClearPath has recently presented to Nuclear Regulatory Commission on the need for regulatory improvements for advanced nuclear reactor designs. Senate Environment and Public Works Committee Chairman, John Barrasso (R-WY) along with Sen.
