These twin realities create parallel challenges: producing more, while simultaneously deploying clean energy technologies that will reduce emissions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The U.S. must lead in meeting both challenges. Domestic natural resources \u2014 oil, natural gas, coal and critical minerals \u2013 are prolific. Recent global instability has demonstrated just how crucial it is to decrease our dependence on hostile regimes like Russia, China and Iran. As the world\u2019s largest producer of oil and natural gas, America\u2019s seat at the table is clear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Advancing U.S. leadership can\u2019t stop with natural resources, we must also lead in low-carbon technologies. Financial incentives and policy support are accelerating the development of solutions like carbon capture and storage (CCS), which the International Energy Agency has&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.iea.org\/commentaries\/carbon-capture-in-2021-off-and-running-or-another-false-start\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">said<\/a>&nbsp;will be \u201cnecessary to meet national, regional and even corporate net-zero goals.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The U.S. already has a competitive advantage with CCS. A recent&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/status23.globalccsinstitute.com\/regional-overviews\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">report<\/a>&nbsp;from the Global CCS Institute shows that the U.S. \u201cdominates\u201d the global CCS landscape with the U.S. facility count increasing by 73 in the past year alone.
